For lots of people throughout America, winter is often synonymous with snowy- icy roads. In many areas it can go from sunny one hour, to a full on blizzard the next. No matter what you think of it, winter is bound to come in many areas, so its better to be prepared. Fortunately, Jaguar is planning ahead for you and equipping every model with Winter Mode!.
You read correctly; the Leaping Cat has added JaguarDrive Control to every new 2012 model. Jaguar Drive Control consists of Winter Mode designed especially to negotiate the sleekest winter driving conditions and above all, keep drivers unharmed.
You might be wondering what exactly winter mode does to keep you safe. Manhattan Jaguar NYC of New York City is happy to tell you, since we get our share of winter. Drivers must simply activate Winter Mode, and then just leave it up to the car. The car then reacts better to slick conditions. Together, the car's Dynamic Stability Control, powerplant and transmission work to get the most out of the traction.
When using Winter Mode, Jaguar drivers will notice a dampening of the gas pedal. This is certainly done on pupose and allows the Jaguar to hug the road better. Drivers will also notice a difference in the car's transmission gear-change strategy. In Winter Mode, the vehicle will start in second gear, when starting from a level-grounded stop. This is intended to keep the tires from spinning upon taking off.
