Many people would say that some vehicles, like the ones Jaguar creates, are art.  However, like in any art, what makes it stand out from the crowd? Of all the examples, Manhattan Jaguar NYC serving New York City has seen recently you could say that one such vehicle has really stuck with us. That is a Jaguar XKR Art Car.

Mr. Kaves was the man responsible for creating such a memorable piece.  His background is in graffiti was put to good use when he used the Jaguar XKR as his canvas.

So what did he come up with you ask?  A flame of course, which his pretty fitting because the 2012 Jaguar XKR cranks out 510 horsepower. We want to make sure you have an accurate picture though.  If you're picturing a huge flame sometimes drawn on the side of muscle cars, that would not be correct. Given its graffiti roots, there's something almost graphic-novel like about it. And light blue streaks lend greater dynamic to the speed and heat conveyed.

The new Jaguar XKR Art Car was first officially spotted at STK restaurant in NY, a very popular place for celebrities and the wealthy.  Not only was the car displayed, but also another piece by Mr. Kaves. Continuing the Jaguar theme, fourth canvas was based largely on the forthcoming Jaguar F-TYPE expected to land in dealerships next year.

The restaurant for the debut was carefully chosen, as Jaguar was aiming for a young, hip crowd. The restaurant's telling tagline, "Not Your Daddy's Steak House", is matched by photos of models stabbing steak with their stilettos, on the official STK website.  Its edgy for sure.

So how do executives at Jaguar feel about this new edgy look?

We will let Ian Callum explain. "I love it," he says. "It's a fascinating contrast of beauty and drama. There's a real edginess to it that we can enjoy at Jaguar."¹
